Except that's not how that works. Unless you're going to do the leg work and point to statutes that say otherwise, I'm going to disagree with you.

So I'm confused. Adobe didn't license software correctly so how is that an Adobe user's fault?
I'm protected from wrongdoing on my end if I properly licensed software from Adobe.
If Adobe did...
Geez you guys are young. ;)
I started using Photoshop 2.5, before they introduced layers and you had to do all compositing in channels. You kids never had it so good.
I would say neither good or bad at this point.
We're still fairly fresh into a new LightWave release so there's time for anything to play out yet.
Haven't upgraded to 2019 (yet) so can't confirm this doesn't exist, but I would REALLY like the ability to rotate the pivot for layers.
I've noticed this too and I agree that not everything NEEDS a screenshot/file attachment, nor does this sound like something that a screenshot will actually help describe.
I want to say this has...
Do not destroy your working file with SubDs.
Set the SubD level you want, Freeze it.
Check the mesh to make sure it's good for printing.
Save a Copy of the frozen mesh so you can go back and...
Disc found, let me know.
I would second this. Speaking for myself, my LightWave license is used for my personal hobbies.
Not having any indication, at all, when a new version will be released is simply not budgetable. Then...
I'll have to look and see if I still have my disc. If I do it's in storage.
This vector output market got stupidly anti-competitive. Erain was gobbled up and put out to pasture along with similar...
Thanks for sharing the differences in the Unity shaders. I've been wanting to see some comparisons.
The HD workflow feels a lot nicer.
I'm interested to see any performance gain/hit by using this...
Like 3DS Max? Max uses Z-up, Unity uses Y-up. Rotate your pivot so Y is up and see if that fixes it.
By default box, do you mean a Cube from the 3D Object menu in Unity, or an imported object from LW?
Nice find. And bought!
Unity. Got a usable workflow for Vertex Normals with 2018 and a plug-in. Not having this was kind of a show stopper.
This is really cool.
That would not be unwanted. I'm currently using FBX and it's fine, for the moment at least. I'm just not keen on having a proprietary format like this at an integral part of the workflow.
How...
No, and wrong. Still not talking about Photoshop. Easy concept. Do you have anything to add to the conversation besides contradiction?
We're not talking about Photoshop. I don't even know why you would bring that up. Apples and oranges.
Make a comparison to a 3D modeling app and I'd be happy to discuss.
This has definitely become a four-letter word for me and I think it's the worst workflow ever. It destroys geometry for me and is wasting my time. I just submitted a bug report and you guys will...
I used to exclusively have it disabled because it caused too many problems and impeded my workflow more than it was actually helping it.
With 2018 I forgot to disable it, and it actually has been...
That is how Unity works; You bring in your .FBX, it has a material(s) in the file. You also bring in texture map files for Albedo, Metallic/Smoothness, Normals and assign them to that material. That...
Because that doesn't work? I have tried that and no, nothing pastes from LW to 3DC. Am I missing a step?
That would be nice, yes. I'm not a coder so I wouldn't be much help on this other than beta tester, which I'm open to.
I would love for 3D Coat to read the LW 2018 file format. it's not a huge...
I've noticed that too about each layer automagically acquiring the model name and it is annoying. Still present in 2018.0.3.
My current project is requiring me to model in place rather than at...
