Nice. It'll be interesting to see when more benchmarks come out, but looks like it's going to be a fairly substantial improvement on the current lineup.

3x the cores 4x the speed. That's a pretty serious change, considering i7 releases were basically at a trickle in terms of performance gains for years. Things have been exciting since AMD released...
I just put my new rig together a couple of days ago and wanted to do a benchmark and thought I'd start here.
old rig I7-4770:
49m 16s
New rig 3900X
standard: 12m 19s
volumetric: 40m 12s
...
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things I'd rather see first. Just you know, it's a cool thing. You people. Always so serious.
That's a pretty exciting little video. Is it wrong I still hold hope that we see this sort of thing put into LW? I know it's just resting.
Haha! This is awesome. My day just got a lot better 8) I found both videos equally entertaining.
I find Modler to be a lot of fun to use. I'm new to LWCAD. It brings a lot to the table, but I've still got a long way to go with it before it feels comfortable though. I'm watching the demonstration...
I've finally got my 2020 environment setup. The few changes to Modeler since 11.6 are nice, but Layout has had a lot of love. I feel Layout crashes a lot more frequently though, while Modeler remains...
This thread ;-; It would be awesome to see LW in the hands of devs that were invested in it. Bondware aka Renderosity bought Poser last year. Who knows how that's going to work out, but at least...
Who knows Liberty3D? I bought the Syflex guide (fantastic training material) from there back in 2017, and my LW2020 licence.
Seems to be some DNS issues. May have something to do with it.
If ISPs didn't provide some way for their IPv6 network to communicate with IPv4 networks then a lot of the internet just wouldn't work, so I doubt that's the problem. Almost all of the internet is...
Snake arm is amazing creepy - nicely animated!
Nice tool. I can imagine that would be handy for all sorts of quick effects. I haven't touched Blender since around 2013 but I remember finding many cool features.
Awesome link
Hear hear!
What a journey! It was inspirational seeing the evolution. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a sudden craving for waffles.
Hah! Apologies. I went back and noticed OP was only interested in LW specific solutions, so I thought I'd do a sneaky and remove the additional thoughts. That tentacle thing looks pretty good. I...
As a modeler first, part of that makes me happy, but I do really enjoy tinkering in layout. That part is a sad.
Agree. I loved those.
Indeed, especially given I also took advantage of the LWCAD sale. So many new tools!
I'm a bit on the fense about an upgrade. Before buying into 2020 I hadn't updated since 11 (which was my first update since buying an existing 9 licence). I've been waiting for some serious modeler...
LW really is a cool box of tools. I'm looking forward to using these new features.
I've mostly been using LW 11, but am looking forward to spending some quality time with 2020. I hear there are some obnoxious bugs though... So...
I'll keep an eye out. I'm interested to see the update. Have you tested it with the 2020 updates?
