Ah yes, most fun computer of all time! My brother and I duped our parents in purchasing an Amiga 1000 with second external floppy, a 2mb(!) ram extension and the glorious original 1081 monitor by...
Yep, same here. Also combine it with the free version of MalwareBytes. And common sense ;-P
You know, I got the ebook and read the first quarter in bed on my Kobo. Interesting so far, and I noticed I can bear its first person point of view in this case, because it is written in the past...
If anyone is interested in superb Fantasy, I would recommend the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Erikson. Not suitable for the beginner (fantasy) reader, though.
I haven't found anything that can...
I found an excerpt of the first chapter - it seems to be written in first person narrator's point of view? I always have difficulty reading books written from that perspective. In my mind I replace...
I actually remain unconvinced by that trailer. We will have to wait and see. But it's great to have more SciFi TV to look forward to. A new Dune is also upcoming, I believe?
I tried watching Defiance as well, but after a few episodes just gave up.
The Expanse is very, very different. Starts with a microcosm of one police detective in an asteroid settlement, and...
Thank you! I am an avid Scifi and Fantasy reader, and that series completely flew under my radar - first time I've heard of it. Going to investigate (right after I finish the second powder mage...
Btw, just started watching the new season of The Expanse. Such a great series. Read the books, and it is not often that the TV adaption is perhaps even better than the source book(s).
Never...
In a nutshell, his hypothesis/theory, based on a lifetime of observations, is that new baby galaxies are born from the nucleus of older galaxies. His observations include other related interesting...
After reading about the observational evidence and studies made by Alton Harp (RIP), I doubt that this is so.
Thank you Wayne!
Well, I think all this proves J Wiede's point: either get the Trueart text plugin, or do your type work in another 3d app, and import.
No worries! :)
Here are three screenshots demonstrating what I described:
Initial object loaded in Modeler. Notice all the issues. Many letters are all over the place with outlier polygons.
...
Well, it is a ~20MB executable, and no need to install anything. Just unzip and run. Remove after use...
Anyway, just weird behaviour. I'll grab some screenshots to demonstrate.
Accutrans is a free download at http://www.micromouse.ca/
The trial is fully functional, doesn't need to be installed (just unzip). The license is based on an honour system: use it for 30 days,...
Have you tried opening the original LWO file in Accutrans? It reports holes. There are no other issues compared to Modeler. That is rather odd in my opinion.
I wonder why Accutrans and Blender...
This is strange: when I open the file in Accutrans, the artifacts no longer appear, but checking the mesh for holes reveal problems in the H and Y ( front polygons are missing).
When I save as an...
Do you count yourself as a "Lightwaver", then? You make it sound as if you are part of a cult. As if only "true believers" deserve to be called "Lightwavers".
Lightwave is just software. Software...
I noticed Blender 2.91 was released yesterday. They have a special Black Friday deal: free download!
;-P
...sorry, couldn't resist. :)
Anyway, Luminar 4, Aurora HDR, and PhotoLemur 3...
@KAT Yeah, I think if anyone is motivated and qualified to take on that job, you would be able to be that person. But will you be able to convince Vizrt management and Newtek to sell Lightwave source...
Just look at what reallusion is doing: selling the dream with tools and asset generation that allow even a complete noob to create nice looking 3d stuff. The key is integrating high quality assets...
Newtek attempted that before, of course. It would be a vast undertaking, and a dedicated development team would probably need at least 5 years of development for that to happen. And at that point the...
Modo is really really really good at shoe viz, though. ;P
Surely you meant hundreds OR thousands of other [indie shops]? I doubt there were hundreds of thousands of Lightwave seats even in its heyday - or even general DCC seats in the world.
