    Thanks Ryan.

Did all that. Got Bridge in/up on LW. The problem is on unreal's side. Every time I try to enable the bridge, unreal restarts, and then gives me the error (see above) and then quits....

    Instructions unclear:

Do I need to put the newly unzipped LightwaveBridge folder in both the Unreal 4.22 / editor folder as well as the LW plugin folder?

I suppose I needed to rescan my plugins...

Hmm. Interesting. Not sure why I was charged $295, then. I did have an educational license up until 2018. That might have something to do with the pricing.

An email wasn't sent out (as far as I know) yet. The announcement thread indicates the upgrade pricing. First post on this very thread.

I was charged $295 for my upgrade. And the 2019 announcement says the upgrade is applicable to ANY PREVIOUS VERSION.

It's $295 to upgrade - from ANY PREVIOUS VERSION.

This is an extremely generous offer, and to expect anything else is irrational. Name any other 3D vendor that does this.

    This is heartening to read.

Seems that a lot of old / defunct LW users are retuning to the fold because of this release.

    WELL DONE, NewTek!

I'm willing to bet a quid that you've been contracted by NewTek to continue developing and integrating this plugin into the app - and adding sooooooo much more.

BTW .. how much is a quid in USD?

And some incredible demos they are! One of them being a beach with a sandcastle that erodes when water runs over it.

The sand simulations are as equally awesome as the water sims.

Well, I have one. Also run a VR lab at work. You'll just have to take my word for it, and do the same research I've been doing for the last 5 years.

Hmm, my point wasn't to educate, but to point out that those who have no experience shouldn't be trying to. Or at least temper their words so they don't portray themselves as experts, when they have...

You're correct, this is subjective. But I do think people need to consider their words. He spoke as if he had authority in the field of VR - I don't think people should be commenting on things they...

Do you HAVE a rift or vive? Your statement smacks of sheer ignorance.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for your input! I agree, I suspect age has something to do with it. And I say that as a 46 year old. Been tinkering with digital imagery since the beginning (1984).

    Agree 1000% !

It's bizarre that the atmosphere here is against VR/AR. Totally bizarre. It's the inevitable future. And it's arriving NOW.

    Unequivically, yes, it is.

I can't model for **** when working with LW … but when I'm modeling in VR, it's liberating.

The next step of integration of VR for animation is using the controllers...
