Hi all. Does anyone know of a way to import Google Sketch models into LW on a Mac?

Export as 3ds or obj from SU.

There is a LW Export plugin.

http://shaxam.com/files/lwo_export-0.0.6.zip

AFAIK the LW export plugin should work on Mac too? It's a Ruby script, not compiled code.
You could also export as KMZ, which is basically a Collada file (dae) which should be possible to unpack/unzip from the kmz file and get loaded into LW?

Thanks. I just exported a test Google Sketchup file as a .kmz file. I was then able to open into Photoshop CS4 under the open 3d layer command and then export as an obj file which opened into Modeler.

Thanks for your help.

drop the unzipped files from shaxam in to the SU6 plugins folder, /Library/Application/ Support/Google SketchUp 6/SketchUp/Plugins/. restart SU6. and follow the readme file that comes with the script. The script also appears to work in SU7. I haven't used it for a while, and cant recall how successful it is...but no harm in trying.

Sorry. A little confused. Please clarify. Am I installing a LightWave or SketchUp plugin? Where do I get the plugins. Please be specific.

cc3d posted the link to the ruby scripts a few posts up...its a lw export script thats why you are installing it in the sketchup plugins directory.

I have placed the export.rb and the lwo_export.rb into the plugins folder for Sketchup, but my only option for 3d export is the Google Earth.KMZ format.

you really need to read the readme file for this script, if its installed correctly then you will find the Export LWO item in the Tools menu.
