View Full Version : Walking on a hard surface

I have a character with a walk cycle animated on it. I use a Null as a Main Mover to move it. Is there a way to animate this character walking over hills easily? Maybe using a Texture Displacement on a surface? I suppose I could get in there and do it manually, but maybe there's an easier way??

It depends alot on how your character is rigged and animated.
When you walk up or down hill the body leans forward or backward to stay balanced otherwise you should be able to just rotate the main mover.

Reminds me of the texture channel motion modifier that probably wont help, but is an interesting thing that allows you to apply a texture to a motion channel.

Here the ground and Y motion of the tires reference the same displace texture-
