Hello,

First sorry for my terrible English.

I would like to know if we plan make some version of lightwave to the AmigaOS 4.1 to run in the acube machine Sam440ep-flex

MB = http://www.sam440.com/eng/sam440ep-flex.html
acube = http://www.acube-systems.biz/

I am looking this board and it have big capabilities to expansion, maybe a toaster for this system come good and it will be a cheap TV workstation, like in the past the A2000.

Thank you,

Ice

The Sam440 board does not have the graphics custom chips and video slot that made the Amiga based Video Toaster possible.

The current incarnation of the Video Toaster - VT5.2 runs on Windows based systems and is far more powerful (and I suspect less expensive, if you consider inflation) than the original Amiga based system.

I have not heard of any plans to port current releases of LightWave to AmigaOS 4.1, and I would not expect that to happen, since it runs so well on Windows and MacOS which are a much larger market.

As it stands right now the best performance you will get out of the Amiga with Lightwave is if you use a Accelerator card like the Cyberstorm with as much ram as you can stuff onto it (128mb) and use an Amiga 4000 with an add on graphics card like the Cybervision card. Newtek has no plans of upgrading software or hardware for the Amiga platform.

This would of course limit you to using Lightwave Version 5 or earlier, as opposed to 9, the current version.
