Hi Guys...It is better to have the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB for lightwave for mac?? how do guys compare NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M??

How the both affect the lightwave?

i was thinking getting a mac but no sure should i get the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics with 9600M GT with 256MB or not....can u guys advise me...thank you

Right now, there's very little difference between the two setups on LW 9.x. This situation will likely change as LW Core comes online - which takes far better advantage of modern GPUs.

The 9600 is several times faster at pushing polys than the 9400M, so it may be a good investment for you further down the line - particularly if you want to work with poly-heavy scenes. It may also prove useful for CUDA and OpenCL apps as they become more mainstream.

The only downside to the 9600 option (beyond the cost) is the fact it sucks a lot more power than the 9400, so your battery life will be significantly reduced.

Though it's worth pointing out that the 9400 - as far as integrated graphics goes - is still pretty decent for most things 3D.

Thank you very much..will like to invest on 9600 but due to tight budget...
