I'm creating files that will be imported into Motion and Final Cut Pro where all the other media is (24p) 23.976.

Inside of Lightwave, should I enable fractional frames and input 23.976 fps - OR - should I keep it at 24 fps and when I export to quicktime animation codec, set the value of fps when I'm choosing the codec (not in Lightwave, but in the quicktime parameters dialog) to 23.976?

u dont need to set fractional frames to run LW at 23.976... easiest is probs just to use that as your framerate in LW.

You mean just enter 23.976, without setting fractional frames? I thought that was the point of the fractional frames checkbox?

I've also got another possible issue. I'm using RealFlow for some work with LW, and I didn't see a fractional frames checkbox in that program - and I'm not use if I could just enter 23.976.

Or, am I missing something and when you enter 24 fps, LW knows to use 23.976?

ur missing the difference between a fraction of a frame, and the number of frames in a second....

23.976 is how many frames are shown over the space of one second... but each frame is still whole, not fractional.... U can animate at any frame rate, and change it at rendertime without having any effect on the timing of the animation, which is of course in seonds... frame rate is just how each of those seconds is divided.

Yes, I see now - thanks for the explanation!
