First of all, I've imported some BVH files into LW that worked great, everything lined up perfectly and the animation was spot on. So I know BVH works great with LW.

But I just got some BVH files (the motion of which I really need) from a MAX guy. They load into LW fine, but the skeleton is very screwy. You can kind of tell the animation is there, but the initial joint rotations are way off so instead of looking like a normal skeleton, it looks like a pretzel.

Since BVH are really jus ascii text files, does anyone know if there's some magic formula for changing the text in them to make sure the skeleton imports with proper initial setup rotation inside LW?

Try loading it into a free app called BVHacker and see if it behaves the same way.

Larry,

Ahh, BVHacker. Just found it. Also I found some that might work.

Using the motionbuilder versions, not the max versions.

Once again, thanks Larry.
