Hello all. Long time no see.

Dropped er indoors off at work this morning, came back and found what looked like bundles of seeds caught in a spiders web. As the breeze blew it bristled, I blew on them and they exploded into a mass of bodies. Lovely stuff.

It was early, about 7:30am. I waited till early this evening for some back light and took these shots. Some are pure back light, the rest are back light plus diffused flash.

Thought I'd post some as finding spiderling reference shots can be a bit of a pain.

Sweet dreams :)

I never seen that many together like that. Interesting and kind of creepy. Looks like something from a horror movie. :D
Nice find.

Cheers :) I Just saw Stephen Kings 'Mist' on Saturday, more than coincidence?

First time I've seen them like this too. My mom saw this way back in the 70's on a campinig holiday, she stripped back the inner roof on the tent, saw a small sack on one of the corner poles, moved the pole and it burst. She said there were thousands of them running in all directions over her head on the roof. Nightmare stuff :D

I think (only think mind) it's just a common garden spider (I'm in the northern UK), these things are really small, not much bigger than a pin head. They look quite different when they're fully grown mind you. Here's two links for istockphoto and flickr, they're both garden spiders, I think they're the same.

ps, the links above aren't my photo's.

Nah, Might take them away with a stick maybe, as hrgiger says, they're too cute. Mind you, as they're stretched over the bottom of the back door, I have visions of dragging them into the kitchen.

hrgiger:

Cute little guys.
Yup, but they grow up into these ugly looking commando b******s.

I was just kidding, I don't know about spiders, just what I watch in Animal Planet. :)

I see them quite a lot, usually in the corner of a shed or a secluded part of a wall although they tend to just look like fluff unless they're disturbed. I'd freak out before I'd got that close to them although the baby ones don't scare me as much as the larger ones...especially house spiders. I blame my mum, she's hysterical whenever she see's one and I picked it up as a child. I daren't even click on the images, the thumbnails are just fine for now :D ...maybe I'll feel braver later.

Very pretty, especially the last one.

I think most insects are kinda pretty actually, but hey, that's probably just me.

I just moved my residence and spent a lot of time moving totes and boxes from basements.

I could not stop thinking about brown recluses (http://www.emedicinehealth.com/spider_bite_brown_recluse_spider_bite/page11_em.htm#Multimedia).

Those are some nasty wounds, does it happen with all bites, or do you need to be allergic to the toxin?

btw..some people might not be very comfortable with those pictures, a heads up would be nice.

Oh, sorry. I didn't even post the worst I've seen in a Google search.

Some people don't have much of a reaction. For others, the characteristic of the bite is the melting away of the flesh around the bite area. Ouch.

Brown Recluses, really nasty critters. Spent quite a bit of time in Florida over the years, was forever looking out for them in areas covered in chopped bark. I did find a black widow that had made a home in a doorway (I'd been walking through it for weeks and hadn't noticed).

Worst things that ever happened to me over there though, were being jumped on by baby tree frogs and cr*pped on by an owl. :D

I think the same after I came across some detailed photos of things I've never seen before in a gallery. Here are a few friendly ones:

Note: These are not my photos:

NONE OF THE FOLLOWING ARE SPIDERS OR SCARY:
(Click images for large, amazingly detailed photos)

Look at this guy, kind of a cute goofy look:

These two sort of remind me of those gold suit aliens from Fifth Element, just bigger noses:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/lesser-of-two-weevils-55871456

Don't mess with this guy, he's been working out:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/The-Dark-Pope-of-Yuggoth-48616954

How pretty:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/No-1-Vanitas-41848294

This fly looks like a fighter pilot:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/Bifocal-eyes-37623575

This is one strange little guy:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/Nature-s-weird-sense-of-humour-37806722

That's a long tongue:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/I-suck-37410871

100s of other photos in this guys gallery, and reptiles showings amazing skin detail that I'd think Zbrush would have trouble recreating. Though, watch out of the ugly camel spider, nothing redeeming about that guy.

EDIT: One more recent photo from the guys gallery. A little more mean looking green guy, ready for battle, but fun to look at (not scarry), and you just got to marvel at the design of insects when you look at such detailed shots of these creatures in this guy's gallery:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/bring-it-on-121671813

EDIT2: Dang this gallery is too addicting:

The guy looks like an alien, makes me thing of the District 9 trailer.
And sometimes hard to tell if these are real, or illustrations, so amazing:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/natural-born-killers-108086327

Nice camouflage, looks like a flower, next to the real flower:
http://blepharopsis.deviantart.com/art/seeing-double-112215339

As the artists says, this guy has some legs together near the face like a therapist
puts his hands together asking you to talk about yourself (a rolly polly like insect):

Ha, I didn't think of it that way, funny. I also picked a few more out too. That guy's gallery is addicting sometimes.
