Be sure to repair permissions 1st, and backup with Carbon Copy http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html or some other mechanism 2nd, and then use the combo updater.

not installed so far, but read about graphic/resolution issues with 3rd party monitors:

and a fix for that: http://www.madrau.com/html/SRX/DL.shtml

In case anyone uses Euphonix controllers (rather cool controller, I use an mc Mix):

Dear Artist Series owner,

Please note that the new Mac OS update released yesterday, Version 10.5.7, breaks support for the feature in EuControl that automatically detects what control surfaces are attached to your network.

Euphonix is working on a fix please DO NOT update your Mac OS until we release a software update that addresses the issue, as your MC Mix/MC Control will not be seen by your Mac.

For those users who have already updated to Version 10.5.7, you can roll back your Mac OS to the previous version if you are using Time Machine.

... and for anybody using fusion (VMware, not eyeon) on an IntelMac with an ATI Graphics Card:
due to a bug in the graphics card drivers, 10.5.7 eliminates the 3D hardware acceleration for any Windows software ( http://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2009/05/a-message-to-mac-users-with-atibased-system-about-apples-mac-os-x-1057.html )

Time Machine is a good idea, I ran it on an external drive and it made me feel more comfortable about updating to 10.5.7. All is well on this dp 1.42gHz G4. Both of my Viewsonic monitors (on separate graphics cards) are working fine. They picked up the same settings that were running on 10.5.6. It's also good to know about SwitchResX. Never know when I might want more control over monitor settings.
