View Full Version : Pixelation in HDR background

Image file is as big as I can go (5000x5000), it's only a soft cloudy sky, but although I can select hdr filter in image editor and render out stills which look ok, it doesn't seem to save with the scene file - next time I open it it's un-ticked & blocky again, and when I render the scene on the rack - hey, pixel-art clouds!

If the image is assigned to an object, save the object, otherwise it sounds like a bug.

Image is added as background in image world, therefore not attatched to object.
image is of the wacky unwrapped sphere to square format required by image world, therefore cannot be mapped by any normal lw means to use on a spherical sky object or as a textured in background.

Yikes. The only workaround I can think of is compositing, you can then blur the bg to your liking.

That'll be a bug then!
