Hi all,

April's newsletter is now live on the LightWave 3D website (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/newsletter.php). It contains news of 3D rhinos, cut and paste, passes, inspiration and more. Do have a read.

Pretty cool.

Just a minor nitpicking though: Since the Speed Modeling Challenges (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89283) were in fact mentioned, I think there should have been a link to the Speed Modeling Sticky (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89283).

Also, although the Speed Animation Challenge is definitely a cool thing, I can't help but feel the Speed Modeling Challenges were just kind of passed over, like, "Oh yeah, there's some speed modeling going on too..."
The speed modeling challenges are up to #36 now, and have been going on and going strong since last September. If the Speed Animation Challenge is going to be highlighted in a big story, I find it kind of insulting to all those who have put so much time, effort and work into making the speed modeling challenges successful and popular that it didn't even merit a link-to.

And speaking of which, why hasn't our Speed Modeling Challenge Sticky been updated in months? Are y'all embarrassed about it or something? (Or is it because it doesn't have any well-known people doing animations? )
meh. 'nuff about that.

Big congrats to weepul! - that 'shroom amazed me when I first saw it (in a speed modeling challenge, no less), and it still amazes me now. :)

EDIT:
No mention at all about CORE. Isn't it about time for another sneak peek? I assume you guys are still hoping to continue selling it. ;)

I'm pleased. I was properly quoted, and my professional pseudonym was spelled correctly.

Hi Imi,

The Speed Modelling challenge was put in the newsletter when it started (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/newsletter.php?pageNum_monthlynews=5&totalRows_monthlynews=6#speed) and since Edit time limits were removed I thought that the page could be edited. I see it it cannot so I'll start updating it again.

Thank you, BeeVee. I apologize for being rude, too, was having a bad morning all around. :(

I know you guys work hard and don't deserve to hear complaints like that, or at least phrased like that. The newsletter is always really nice and well-done though, just wanted to mention that again. Although I think it should have something about CORE in it....

I didn't know you thought the page could be edited, I thought you just decided you didn't like modelers or something. ;)

Wow! That came as a nice surprise - I scrolled down and got a bit of a start when I saw that in the newsletter. :) Thanks NT!

(By the way...it wasn't actually for the speed modeling challenge...just inspired by one of my incomplete previous attempts at one.)
