Hi there

Iīm trying to build my first character and Iīm in doubt witch is the best way to do this so I wonīt have problems animating it.

but I donīt know if I start with a sphere or a subpatch cube

Id go with a subpatched cube thats been metaformed.

Ok .. I'm going to ask this out of pure ignornace...

What's the difference between using a cube that's been subpatched and metaformed and simply using a subpatched sphere?

If you create a sphere by subpatching a cube the object will be a sphere made up of quads. A sphere created with the sphere tool will have triangles at the poles which doesnt look great with subpatches.

There is a tennis ball tutorial by Proton around here somewhere that might be a starting point for you.

I saw that tutorial and I creat my tennis ball, but itīs not the best way to change that ball into my character, to many poligons to animate later, especially if you try to make it speak, or morph the mouth.
