View Full Version : Selected Connected of Polys Shown

I'm working through a messy mesh from an import, seperating surfaces to remove smoothing errors etc.

So I'm selecting and hiding stuff as I go.

What would be great is a version of the 'select connected' tool that works on the polys been shown.

So you can 'hide a ring of polys' around a load of detail and then select connected the rest.

Either that or Undo should undo the last few hide commands!

But isn't that how it works currently? If you've hidden polys then you won't be able to select them nomatter what you do. So select connected is restricted to the visible polygons only.

I'm probably not getting this :-/

No I'm afraid not!

(see attached)

I realise in this example it's easy to select all and deselect the polys unwanted, but this is just an example.

Aaahh! Yes, that would be nice and perhaps acctually even more intuitive.

Yeah, Ive run into this one a few times too - and unhide in steps is one of my top ten requests too...

I suppose you already know that Expand connected, doesn't jump through hidden polys, so you can just hold the shift+} keys to get the a result. But it could be potentially slow when working on complex models as it redraws alot.

Still not a perfect solution though and I second the request. :)
