Hi,

I am new to LightWave, I have been working with MODO and have models I want to trans. over to LightWave, so I can animate the models. In MODO the animation is very basic. Is their a tutorial out for this? I have lightwave 9.6, MODO 302.
Thank you jt-tut

In modo you can save objects as .lwo lightwave object.

You can use lwo for transfer. Sometimes I use obj. It depends on the model.

By the way, did you see this feature reveal from yesterday:

Modo is getting more and more tools for rigging. So bones are the next logical step. The day is not too far that we see CA in modo. I am looking forward to this.
Currently Lightwave is still my workhorse but I found that I tend to do more and more work in Modo (rendering, some modeling).

all I don't like about modo is the shader tree, it sucks. I prefer Lw hybrid material system.

Yes, I also prefer the LW material manager. But the shader tree is ok. The way how you easily find settings for environment and GI is a good idea.

But I love the preview renderer and the fact that I can see normal maps right in the modeling viewports.
