I am using lightwave modeler V9.6.
I have set its own folder with its own config file, using the -c flag.
I am using legacy OpenGL in modeler.
Yet when I use lightwave modeler, it cause windows to show that blue screen of death, minutes, sometimes seconds after launching modeler. Depending on what I am doing.
I am using my computer to develope a game, so I use VS2005 and my game make use of the GPU for 3D graphics via directX9.
Neither VS2005 nor my game have caused the computer to produce a blue screen of death, not even once.
I am working on windows XP pro 32 bit, if that helps.
I don't know what else to do.
I thought it might be because of a driver that was installed for the newtek dongle. But I don't know how to check it or any other problem that might cause this.
Do you have any ideas what I can do?
Thank you.

graphics drivers is my first guess.
bad memory is my second.

otherwise you may want to contact newtek tech support.

I have tried all kind of graphics drivers.
From two years ago, to halve a year ago, to the most up to date.
I have run a memtest on my CPU memory, for two hours, there was no error reported.
I swaped emails with Newtek support, they told me to call.
However their phone is constantly busy, and I cannot get in touch with them.
My last hope is to buy a new card, and try replacing my current card, see if that is the problem.
Do you think replacing the NVIDIA card with a new NVIDIA card could help somehow?
The graphics card I was thinking of buying is:
BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 PCIe 2.0

My best guess is your video card.

BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 PCIe 2.0

That would certainly get the job done.

I was thinking of buying a cheaper card:

eVGA GeForce 9600GT KO 512Mb PCIe

Would that do the work as well? No special problem for lightwave with this card?

I can't imagine having problems with that card either.

For instance, I'm using a BFG GeForce 7600GT, 256MB PCI-E. No problems here. IMHO, you can't go wrong (at the moment) with a Nvidia card. They are pretty solid, in my experience.
