Hi there,
this is an animation I did last year to be shown at the GlasTec fair. I got most models as CAD files and had to do some heavy polygon reduction. In the end the scene had around 1.7 million polys. THe scene is light by a domelight and a specular only pointlight. Rendered with LW 9.5 Beta. Rendertime was around 2-3 minutes in average.

Limbus, what an excellent piece of work - really brave move to do it as one continuous piece! Nice colour palette too.

Can I ask, at around 1:35, what technique did you use to get the track to bend and follow the big yellow arm?

Thanks, they forced me to do one shot only ;-)

Thats the god old bend modifier with some nulls. Someone in this forum had the idea to do it that way. (see this thread: http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88561)
