Hello—

Where in the directory structure does Lightwave keep the user-defined surface presets? I want to edit mine en masse but I can't seem to find the folder they're stored in. OS 10.5.6, UB.

Please advise.

Mine are stored inside the Surface Preset folder :

/LightWave3D 9.6/SharedSupport/Presets/Surface Editor/Surface Preset/

Yeah, that's where the "Built-In" ones are on my computer too. But the "This User" ones are nowhere to be found—I can't even locate them by name using cmd-F. Lightwave must be storing them somewhere—where is it?

Try ~/Library/Application Support/LightWave3D/Presets
~ is the current user's home folder...

That's interesting...I thought only the preferences can be stored at different locations. I must make a mental note of that

Yes, third-party plugins can go there too... at this path:

~/Library/Application Support/LightWave3D/Plugins

So it is...I'm surprised the content directory isn't there too :hey:

I always had a problem with the default location of the content directory being within the application folder. Lucky..I keep mine on my desktop, otherwise I would have deleted it by accident.

Yeah, I always use a new content directory for each project. Just works better for me that way. If I left it in the app folder I would have lost it a few times now too!

I move my content folder to an external hard drive, and share it on my network.
