Looks cool. Was a little disappointed with the first one. Hope that this one is a bit more into the action.

WOHOO!

I LOVE Devastator.... Really cool that the Constructicons are in this movie! It's going to be a fun ride!

:)

EDIT: Oh.. and I really like Soundwave from the original series... he seldom speaks, but when he does... I LOVE it. :)

The transformers in movies strike me with two things.

First seeing people really get hurt

Second seeing it all happen for real and way too fast

In the cartoon series, you would hold a greater grasp at the shapes and objects, as theyd pose for a longer time and when theyd fight it would happen slower and more in grappling throws an all. And people never did really get hurt, not viewable in the cartoons at least.

And Optimuse Prime without his lower part defensive maks looks quite bad by me aswell.

I was never a fan of the transformers series neither the toys, so I don't know what you are talking about but I had fun with the first movie.

There was some concept art posted on CGTalk a few months ago for devastator and another one.

Personally I think that the designs fail miserably and were one of the main factors to the general disappointment of most people that saw the first film...along with the terrible direction.

As a cool piece of artwork and clever technical exercise the concepts are very good but, for hero characters that need to stand up to a lot of fast movements, shakey camera work and close-up interaction, they are among the worst designs I've ever seen for a film. I couldn't actually tell you what any of the characters looked like from the first film because they were just a blurry, metallic mess 99% of the time...and when you have two robots that are both mostly silver and made from tiny, incomprehensible pieces fighting an inch away from the camera you don't have a hope in hell of understanding what's going on.

Very cool, although I gotta say the only character that I care about is Megan Fox!! :)

Megan Fox really adds the 'look' to the movies :D

The action scenes are way too fast. It's like they want to hide any mistakes they made.

Yes.

As I said It stroke me as that. Like they say here, the CG artists wanted to go for a swim without getting soaked!

Since they were already in it, why not make longer renders, longer combat scenes, longer BLOODYYY still camera shots!!! So as we could get the picture of how are these new characters beeing posed in the movie, how they interact and how they fight, and alas get some grip of what is going on!! So as the whole thing doesnt passes in front of our eyes, making it appear as if it was some kinda secret magician trick!

Not for each combat to end in manner of minutes, cause they are CG animations and cost alot, while the ones where they use real cars to last longer in driving away from here to there in a boring mess really!

With the exception of the theme song I wasn’t really a fan of the animated series. The film I walked out on long before the third act.

How about some more characters?

Faulteron: Has the ability to make any machine instantaneously stop functioning.
Alternate form a 1988 Hugo.

Bailout: Serves as the lair for the Decepticons.
Alternate form: A.I.G. corporate headquarters.

Morphaceptor: Scavenges spare parts in case they are needed one day.
Alternate form: Any Chrysler product.

Debterox: Grows and grows and grows.
Alternate form: A giant weight whose mass is a burden upon the humans.

It looks like this one has a much darker tone to it. Doesn't look half bad. The first one was ok, but it had to high of a 'cheese' factor to it.

Uh?

Are you saing that most people thought that? Or are you saying that, among those that didn't like the film, the design and direction were the two main factors that brought it down?

If it is the the later of the two, then yes... that is also what I've heard. But, among all the people I meet, a huge majority really liked the first one, including myself.
