Hey I'm using weight maps to put a base colour on my mesh with a gradient. I render sub-d mode and the colour seems imited to the initial points and polys I selected causing thin lines of colour rather than spreading out as the mesh is subdivided. I have used this method many times before without this problem, anyone know what might be up?

ok I remade the map and it seems to be fixed... odd though I'm not sure what caused that.

When creating the weightmap, do not select anything and set 0% for the initial value. After that, select the polys/vertices and set the vertex map value you want to use.

Indeed. If you don't do as Gerardo suggests all other points will have no value (NULL) assigned at all (not even 0). With no value assigned LW has nothing to calculate the interpolated values with. That's why you get the sharp edge.
