I work in a corporate environment where each project I complete needs to be approved by 4 people before it goes out. Problem is they are rarely in the office, so it creates a pretty significant bottleneck.
I'm envisioning some sort of process where I can upload a FLV of the project to a webserver and direct the approval commitee to a webpage that will let them view the video, comment (and see other's comments), and approve the project.

Does anyone have a similar approval process or know of any software based or other solutions that might help me with this?
How do you freelancers go about approving your work when your client is in a remote location?

Maybe even install a private forum like this one...can you insert flv video into the body of a post here?
Archiving comments and approvals is the an important consideration...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

2 places that I have worked use Basecamp for this sort of thing. It is very easy to use and work well for what it is.

There are a bunch of online PM services. I'd review them to see which one fits your needs the best...

I'd be curious to hear if any of them handle animations and visual data better than the others.

Good luck! :)

If you're running the web server:

If you're on a shared web server:

If you're a creative firm and use Adobe products:

these are all helpful but may be a little overkill for what I'm looking for...I don't think I need full blown project management, just a way for them to view the finished project and either approve or comment.
I build the entire project from script to final edit so I don't really even need a way to collaborate or share assets, just a way for them to see the finished project from a remote location...

Ftp and email sounds like the right combo then.

we use cinesync for all our film work. Lets all parties scrub quicktimes and draw on frames while chatting. Very nice.

Jefecheck (http://jefecheck.jefecorp.com/) was developed by my former employer. They are using this software for their offices in LA and Mexico City.
