I've stenciled a shape onto a sphere in order to keep the sphere's curvature for the new object. Looks ok, but now I'd like to extrude it. Any suggestions? A normal extrude (or smooth shift) leaves the edges ragged because of the uneven polygon sizes.
I started with a tessellated sphere.

Thanks.

Easy answer is to copy the shape into a new layer, highlight the polys, use Extend Plus with no shift, then use Point Normal Move to extend the shape. (Do this a few times, so you have segments along the extrusion.) Then copy the original shape into this layer and merge points. Done. (Unless you have to flip all the polygons.)

Worked perfectly, thanks!
