View Full Version : fiber and hypervoxels crashing

I was wondering if anyone has tried using these two together.
I am using 9.6 and my scene involves using both fiberfx and hypervoxels. When I have each independently on the scene works, not great but it works, the problem is when I turn both on I get a crash. The scene file will not open up either. Any ideas or help?

Can someone else test this? What am I doing wrong?
The only work around I found was to break up the scene into 2. ONe with hypervoxels on and one with fiberfx on?

I didn't find any issues with 64 bit on Vista. Could you post your scene?

i'm having the same problem, and it doesn't have anything to do with the windows version.
i tried rendering on 2 computers, one with 64 bit vista and the other with a 32bit windows7 beta. renders crashed on both of them.

This is definitely a bug, triggered by the use of fiberFX and hypervoxels in the same frame (probably when one is shading another)
I've noticed that if you click the "Unseen by rays" checkbox in the HVemitter object it doesn't crash, but at the expanse of not having any HV shading...

still looking into it, will report again if i find a loophole.. 8/

Just tried a quick scene in 9.6 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit, works but transparenct doesn't seem to work properly. Will try in 9.6 64 bit too.

Seems to work OK in 9.6 64 bit too.
