Does anyone know how to convert a .mb file (I believe from maya) to lightwave?

Thanks!

Export from maya as FBX format, then open in modeler or layout.

it's an easy and straightforward process :)

you'll find some different things between both apps, but most things will export correctly including geometry and joint bones (rigs)

Thanks for the reply. My problem is that I don't have maya. I just have two .md files and Lightwave.

Do you know of another way? A specific file converter perhaps? I don't know Maya but the files are supposed to be objects....I'm not sure why they aren't in .obj format.....

Its a motionbuilder file it sounds like. FBX will export the object and other data. IF you need just the objects you might have them rexported from Maya in obj format.

I was afraid of that. Yes all I need are the objects. Unfortunately I have lost touch with the original artists. I was wondering why these files were not .obj files to begin with....

Thanks for your help.
