I'm trying to decide which one to get, I know Lightwave Core is the newest addition, but i'm not sure what it's all about, so I want to stick with Lightwave 9.5 or 9.6, due to the design i'm most confortable with. I thought I would ask for some suggestions first, before I do something i'm not 100% sure of doing.:lwicon:

Well you can scratch one more thing off your to do list. You get both of them together when you purchase a license.

As far as I know, if you grab v9 now, the upgrade path to CORE is free. (A full license of LW v9 is $900...or $600 if you can do the 'companion' crossgrade [like if you have MAX or XSI or something]). So, you get the best of both worlds. If you already have v9, you can get in on that action for $400 (which goes up to $500 in April), and CORE will be a $1500 buy-in for newcommers once it is released 'fully' in Q4 or so.

So...go ahead and get v9. All the info is on the CORE page: http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/core/

What everyoe else said... And on the topic of 9.5 vs 9.6; I wouldn't bother with 9.5 at all. Stick with 9.6.

I purchased lightwave 9.2 is there a way I can upgrade from there?

Thus would that depend on the liscence I purchasing with lightwave 9.2?

If you've got 9.2, 9.6 is a free upgrade. At the moment core will cost $395.

It will take 2 years at least to have a solid picture of what is going on.
I have several projects that need stability.
Thus, I have both LW8.3 and LW9.6 installed on my PC.
If something fails, I have alternative solution.
