Hi

I'm new to lightwave and have been going through some of the tutorials and i've found that smoothing on any objects doesn't seem to work. No matter what i do with it, it never changes the appearance of the object, i.e getting smoother. Also when editing nodes whatever has been done in the node editor does not alter the object.

Thanks for any help
Paul

as for the smoothing... it sounds like you have to switch your display mode to smooth shaded.

and surface nodes dont work unless you render... motion and displacement nodes work in the viewport.

Heres a pic of the problem

The smoothing was on higher than it is on the pic but doesn't make a difference

In your Perspective Window, click on the drop-down tab labeled "Flat Shade," and select "Smooth Shade" instead.

it looks like you have beveled all the polys... That is why its not smothing.

ah rite lol, after zooming in it looks like that might be the case. Not sure how i managed it as i followed the tutorial exactly and there wasn't the same problem. Thanks
