Hi all. I have just created a small animation and would like to export as an animation Quicktime movie or something simlar.

I am unable to find a QuickTime exporter in my 9.6 running on a Mac Pro.

It's usually best to export a frame sequence rather than an animation. Then assemble the frame sequence into any type of animation file that you need. If anything happens while rendering frames, you can simply pick up where you left off whereas an animation file would be ruined and you'd have to start over again.

In Layout

Shift T for Render Globals,
click save animation, click on type and choose .mov, click on options and choose what type of Quicktime you would like (prores, H.264 etc.), Click animation file and pick a place to save the file.

I agree though it's always better to save an image sequence in case of a crash.

Thanks. That worked, but the image quality is poor.

Poor in what way? If your exporting to a highly compressed flavor of quicktime your image can suffer. Also check your antialiasing (render globals, filtering)

Here are my settings. Also attached is a screen grab from QuickTime.

Change the reconstruction filter to Classic instead of Gaussian and that should fix it
