Hi all. I am rather new to LW.
What is the easiest way to scale an object. What I am would like to do is choose an object an scale it to a specific height or width while constraing the proportions.
Much like the Illustrators Scale Tool.

If you have the object already, I would suggest you use the numeric tool an make a box the size you desire the object to become in a background layer.

Then you use SHIFT H in modeler to resize it while maintaining your proportions.
In Layout you can also scale maintaining proportions. Select the object. The first selection has the three axis in arrows. Hitting the Space Bar will put you in resize mode, where the arrows are rounded ends. Hitting Space Bar yet again will put you into Scale mode that constrains proportions.

I think. I am at work and don't have access on this terminal to check that info.

Good Luck.

Thanks, but if I am importing a shape from illustrator that has been sized down, I am trying to figure out a way to simply select it and scale it up proportionately to a certain height or width.

Check out this thread (with a video and very useful plug-in): http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90637&highlight=dimension

I use Absolute Size for this type of stuff.

Modify - Transform - More - Absolute Size

You can simply put in the size of any of the dimensions and then click on the 'locked' button to constrain proportions. That's it! Easy as pie!
