I have a character I need to animate talking.... is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this? Importing the audio and matching it up to the lips to animate.

Also I have heard there are a couple plug ins (like DAZ mimic) does anyone have experience with these/recommend one over the other?

I will probably be doing a fair amount of this... any help is GREATLY appreciated..

Thanks

Actually you want to match the lips to the audio. Ive used a couple of free apps that help greatly.

and

Heres a youtube video on using Jlipsync

Mike Green has a plugin to alllow LW to import the papagayo data. You have to email him to get it.

Thanks Larry... I guess what I am asking is if I am planning on doing a LOT of lip syncing, and am able to pay for a plug in or program to use with Lightwave, what is the BEST option? I have looked at mimic and TAFA... i am on a mac, so I dont think TAFA will work for me. Before I go buy mimic, I wanted to know if that is the BEST option...

Thanks!

You can import an audio file into layout, that is how I usually do lipsyncing. I have done nothing other than silly characters though, like a talking billygoat. It works fine for morph targets.

... I am planning on doing a LOT of lip syncing ...

It gets old really quick. If at all possible, consider faking it. Big eyes, small mouth. Most people look at the eyes. With small mouth movements you can get by with a random morph pattern.
