View Full Version : Electronic Upgrade, a myth?

I have seen "electronic upgrade" thrown around in a post or two. I'm quite confused. All I found is this 2-3 year old thread (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54718), which left me as confused as before.

Is there an electronic upgrade, as in digital download, to v9 (that's available to europeans)?

I don't mind saving the shipping costs and time and don't need a second dongle (why is that included per default in an upgrade anyway).

When you upgrade to LW-9, they send the disks (and manual if you buy that), but the case for the CD's has your Serial # (not to be confused with license or dingle #). I think thats why there is no electronic download when upgrading to major versions.

However point upgrades are downloaded from your account page

ok, thanks. Darn, that means shipping and evil VAT for import *grumble*

That makes sense, cause I think 8 is when they started having serial #'s for the software, not just the dongle (cause alot of people could read the # on the dongle anymore..hehe). So an electronic upgrade to 9 from 8 woulda been possible. But Im sure they sent you the 9 disks, right?
