If we could use twisties in the schematic viewport then we could
make a complex hierarchy dissapear out of view with only the parent showing...
this would be welcome for complex setups such as boned characters or
complex objects with many sub-parented layers.

click on the twisty and its all back again...
something similar to DFX grouping would be another way to accomplish this.

cheers,

Ren

Grid-snapping and the ability to move several selected items at once (without them being paranted to anything) would be nice aswell.

the grouping idea seems to rock.

Several items can be selected via middle mouse drag a rect over
them. Then pick away into plain and drag.

Woho, it works! I thought I tried every combination, guess I missed one. Thanks Allan!

alias powermodeller has the possibility to set up "custom schematic views". actually they were a graphical representation of selection sets.
this way one was able to set up seperate "schematic views" for the single parts of a scene

plus a seperate background image for each of the extra views and this would make a nice visual Selection tool (for example a screenshot of a character...)
