View Full Version : FFX doesn't render inside Voxel Sprites

Am I missing something here? I've got a big landscape scene with FFX for grass. In one portion of the scene I've got a single null with hypervoxel sprites just to create a little fog/haze rising from a pond. Where the voxel sprites overlap with land the grass doesn't render anymore.

You can try turning on "Volume Only" in the ffx panel, but it takes a lot longer doesn't look as good... rendering in separate pass is another solution.

Well as I said in the other thread, the grass needs to reflect in the pond too. But you're right of course that it's still possible to get the desired result in two passes.

With regard to volume only I'm already running well over an hour per frame so I don't think I can take that hit.

I had a similar problem when the FFX was behind glass (see thread (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94594&highlight=ffx)). My conclusion was that compositing (like Toby is suggesting) is the best option.
