View Full Version : Selecting Points

Hi all. I am working on creating a golf Ball.
I am selecting all the center point in the divets.
Is there a way to (after tediously selecting only the centers) to save the selection like in Photoshop's "Save Selection"?

Yes, you can use selection sets. In 9.6 you can find them under the select tab.

I see the Select Tab, but which do I choose to save the selction:
Sel Points
Sel Edges
Sel Polys

Select Nth

Slect Loop
Sel Next loop
Sel Prev loop
Select Ring

Sel Swtch
Select Outline?

I was thinking of a "Save Selected Point."

I am in Modeler 9.6.

The tabs are at the top of the screen not on the left in the toolbar. Click the selection tab at the bottom of the toolbar on the left side of screen you will see Selection sets. click that button. A window will pop up where you can name that set then click create. Now just close the window.

Shortcut - Bottom right side of screen was 5 buttons. W, T, M, C, S. Click the S (stands for selection sets) To the right of the S is a drop down menu. Click it and then click on new. This will bring up the same pop up window.

Tried that, If I deselect and go to the Selection Sets I named, it does not select the points.

Make sure you are in pouints mode and press the 'w' key that will bring up a selection panel. You'll find your named selection sets in there.

That's because you haven't named your selection

1. Hilight points
2. click on 'select sets' in selection tabs
2. Enter name for selection
4. Hit 'CREATE'
4 press 'w' with to open selection panel
5. see selected points listed as a set
6. Smile at job done
