Pretty cool. Think I remember seeing this as an earlier version, good to see your development with it.

The stantions for the ladder do stick out quite a lot, not in a bad way, but my eyes are drawn there. Maybe they need a bit more age in them.

The water also, for my personal tastes needs more brown... or maybe that's just the colour of water I'm more used to seeing in London and Brum!

It must be said - your surfacing work on the round uprights and the deck planks is ORSM! You have captured the feeling and details from your reference shot very, very well.

Looks good!... only advise i would say about the texturing is try and get more of a wet wood look from where the wood comes in contact with the water (and a few inches up where the wood has soaked in the water- see image below).

Very good theme, I like it. Maybe a giant Tachikoma in the water.... By chance if you don't mind could you render it with real lens camera? I would like to see the distortion it makes.

Real lens was going to be my next take actually as the original is a fairly wide angle lens by the look of it. Too absorbed in the core release to play around too much tonight though. :)

Hie cagey!

What I would try, is to put your original picture in background in Layout to match the point of view and the zoom factor. Then on the plane you got for water, I would put a transparency gradient from camera so that you could really see if your water shading is harmonized with the picture.(I think that actually, the bump channel needs some works). And finally it will allow you to have a nice background in render an a GI picture for radiosity :)

Just my advices, but I like what you have done until now! :)

Well I found some time to tweak it some. Most of it spent trying to match the camera angle... :bangwall:

I'm still not happy with the water and I kept the original photo clouds but it it'll do for now.
