View Full Version : Orthographic Camera Range

I'm quite new in Lightwave and I'm trying to write a program implementing a technique named Omni-directional Relief Impostor in OpenGL. I need to take some orthographic renders around a model, taking colour and depth from those renders. I want to use Lightwave for that. Then from the images and some values as the camera position, view-direction and clipping planes from the orthographic camera (well, I just need the near a far planes), I can render in real time the same model in 3D but just using 4 quads textured (with a shader, of course).
By now, I know how to put the cameras, take colour and depth buffer, and get the values i need (position and direction). The problem is I don't know what is the z range (the distance between the near and far planes) of the orthographic camera or how can I get it.

Would someone help me, please?

The near plane is the camera XY plane, there is no far plane. But in 9.6 you can specify absolute distances for the floating point depth buffer...
