Hey all,

Wondering if there's interest in making a shorter thread which contains the disseminated information on the clues.

Any takers?

CLUE 1: The Text on the Core page is backwards Star Wars typography. Most seem to agree that the main words say "Cross the Threshold" and the text underneath the counter says "More to Follow"

CLUE 2: There's a 2ndary page that shows here: http://www.newtek.com/core/message.php "You're just the kind of person we like - more to follow" This is coded into the HTML coding of the page if you look at the source code for the main Core page.

CLUE 3: Pushing the red button took you to a photo jigsaw puzzle. The picture is of Chuck Baker in front of a white board with the words (truncated) Centralized Object Referencing Engine written on the board. Tim Jennison and another fellow drinking coffee are taking notes. http://newtek.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=68611&d=1232768110 .
When the puzzle is solved, you're taken to this image:

CLUE 4: http://www.newtek.com/core/gettingwarmer.php
"The Sign is Coming To..." with another cardboard taped below, words blurred out. Photo taken in front of a wall painted with HANDS.

CLUE 5: A second picture: http://www.newtek.com/core/images/_MG_0954.jpg showed up under the Core page - a construction banner sign lifts when you mouse over the NewTek logo above the counter. Clicking on the "MessageTV" text shows you a picture of a man and a woman working at a computer. The man holds a mannaquin HAND in one hand, and has a line drawn around his wrist. The desk is adorned with all sorts of artifacts - perhaps these are containing features of the new application. One of these is a binder with the label "2009 Milestones".

CLUE 6: http://www.newtek.com/newtek/milestones.php the top item under "2009" is text that says "...gether." HIDDEN text says: but have you found it yet? The question mark is a link which takes you back to the main LW page: http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/index.php

CLUE 7: Clicking on the blue sphere on the Core page takes you to a JPL image of planetary and astroid objects. The LW community has discerned that the dot highlights the position of an astroid named after John Cleese (of Monty Python fame). The consensus seems to be that Python scripting may be involved. http://newtek.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=68818&d=1233088792

CLUE 8: The Core page counter wall now is shaking.

CLUE 9: The Core page counter wall now has cracks in it.

CLUE 10: The Core page counter wall now has green paint splattered on it.

CLUE 11: On the Core Page: Now, when you hold down the "L" key and then press the "W" key, a video pops up. Jay Roth and an artist repeatedly use the words "stacking" and "history" in the video.

CLUE 12: Green "paint" seems to have burned through the metal backdrop of the Core main page to reveal a deformed lattice / honeycombed structure behind it.

CLUE 13: New "fill in your contact information" submission form put at bottom of page, asks what OS you're using for LW: Mac, PC, or LINUX? On submitting the form, you get an auto email from Irene King at NewTek.

CLUE 14: (?) Click on blue lattice deformed thingy and you get a login prompt. type "lightwave" and "Core" as name / password, and it responds with "the hint that never was" and asks again for a login / password.

CLUE 15: Type in "light" and "wave" (without the quotes) on the login screen after doing Clue 14, and you are taken to a BOOBS! poster for the Joy Of Six advertising campaign when Lightwave 6 was released.

CLUE 16: The blurred out text on the 2nd taped piece of cardboard now says REVEAL http://www.newtek.com/core/gettingwarmer.php

CLUE 17: From John Perkins of NewTek: "Do you really think that light and wave completes today's puzzle? I think not. "

CLUE 18: The source code for the page at http://www.newtek.com/core/message2.php has "A great leader who has fallen under video production" embedded in the code.

thanks kinda hard keeping up with the other thread. be nice to keep all the clues in the first post as they come along.

probably already noted, but if you match the writing on the sign with the writing on the milestones page you get

The Sign is Coming To------gether, but have you found it yet

Yes, a thanks from me also. I'm a bit slow here as well ( winter blues me thinks), nice to see a full run down so far. Anyone else popped into the OB section lately? It's like a empty desolate battle ground with the ghosts of bugs fadeing into the night :hey: Very lonely down there:D

Ok. My prediction from the video clips. Newtek is going to use the power of the GPU so we will have realtime rendering, including output, of GI, motionblur, depth of field, hdri, sss, etc. So, take the highest end game engine and fold that into Lightwave. Seems like a no brainer to anyone who has seen the nvidia demos. :hey:

A 2005 demo:

I don't usually post in the LW section, but this is WAY too interesting to miss.

Do you really think that light and wave completes today's puzzle?

I think not.

At the risk of creating a warp in the space time continuum, I will quote John Perkin's hint as a clue at the top of the list.

Lol.

Did you notice that all the windows in the screen shot were within one window?

Yeah, I did notice that Dana, but I just assumed they comped a few frame grabs together with one title bar showing the name & build info.

It probably is just a few skins comped together, but it'd be interesting if it were multiple windows in one pane.

I know this isn't a clue, I just accidentally posted in the wrong thread. :)

Could someone please update this? I can't access the CORE thread, it's too busy or something because I haven't been able to access it for 4 days. I tried IE and FF to no avail. Please tell me what's going on!?

latest clue

The word "mode" looks interesting, example: animation mode, modelling mode. rendering mode, deformation mode.
I liked the linux O.S choice in the sign up area as well

Probably the most interesting thing about the screenshot is the modeling tools menu on the left and the rig schematic in the layout.
