Dear experts:

I have a fresh install of Lightwave 9, and I'm opening some old scenes which I created in Lightwave 7. I have several objects which use video files applied as surface textures. I'm running into a problem when I attempt to load the videos into the Texture Editor -- it gives the error message "Could not load clip. Unsupported file type and/or file not found."

I have tried .avi, .mov, .wmv, all with no success. Is there a new import routine in Lightwave 9, or is there an easier answer... a missing plugin, for example?

Thanks in advance for your input.

make sure all your plugins are installed.

I'm looking in the Plugins folder, and there are about 280 .p files in 8 subfolders. In the folder "input-output" I see a file named "avi.p". Would this be what should allow importing of .avi files as textures?

I'm running on Vista x64, in case this is relevant.

Thanks again...

I've gone and answered my own question. I had installed the 64-bit version of Lightwave, thinking it was best in the x64 environment. Installed the 32-bit version instead, and all of the plugins work fine. Maybe I should read the manual first next time... :)
