View Full Version : Rendering viewports

This may be an utterly stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway because I can't find it in the manuals or Google, etc...

Without using Camtasia, Fraps, etc... is there a way to render out a scene with what the camera viewport is displaying (i.e. grid, light/camera icons, nulls, and all)?

If this is in the maual somewhere, I'm more than happy to RTFM, so a page number will do ...

I guess this was more than just a moderately stupid question then ... I'll take the silence as a "no - you can't do that".

Make and save a preview?

Don't think it's possible.
The only way i can think of is making a screengrap in single viewport layout.
But image size will be restricted to your screen resolution.

Yup.. that's what I was afraid of.

You know you can make and save an animated preview of the viewport right? Not exactly the same as a true camera render, but if you size the viewport to be the same size as the camera view would be, then it's pretty close...
