I am venturing into Character rigging, and am having trouble with some final details. I have set up an IK chain on the arm, so I can move it with a null (which works fine). The character is a robot which will have interchangeable hand attachments, so I need to keep the hands as separate objects. I have linked the hand to the IK chain, but want the red surface in the default position to stay locked to the end of the green cylinder when I move the null (see the attached images).

Anyone have any tips to solve this?

Parent it to the bone.

Thanks Castius, that's sorted it.

Here's another issue I'm having also.
How can I lock the bottom of the legs so they don't go through the ground, if I make the character crouch?

Are you using IK for the legs as well?

I am using IK for the legs, it's a basic setup (just allowing for crouching movements) but I have no feet, the character will have 'tracked' bases.
So I want to stop the bottom of the leg moving through the tracked objects.
