View Full Version : Make HVs invisible to Alpha?

Hi:

Is there a way to make HV sprites render with no alpha channel? I'm doing a graphical animation with a bunch of fish under a boat. The fish are just 2D sprites mapped to some particles. I want to make a glow around the boat when it's called out in the VO. I usually do this by setting the alpha of everything else in the scene to constant black, leaving just the boat with an alpha from which I can pull a glow. However, the HV fish on the particles render with an alpha no matter what settings I try.

Is this possible? I'm using 9.6, downloaded a few days ago.

Thanks.

Sprite mode? Open HV interface, Shading, Basic and set Opacity 0%..

Hi:

Thanks for your reply.

When I take the opacity down to 0, the alpha channel on my fish sprites does disappear. Unfortunately, my fish sprites become partially transparent. I played around with the luminosity and density to try to compensate, but I couldn't make them totally opaque again.

In that case simply render alpha to image sequence. Set back original Opacity and render RGB image sequence again..
