Ok second attempt, the first try was less than 100k then I got a little pop up at the last minute saying maximun 500x500 :(

Part of a courtyard scene I'm making, more to come soon hopefully ....

That looks great!!

Tell us some more about the scene, lighting and all that. :)
How did you make the plant's and their nice shadows (or is that just a nice texture) ?

Thanks!

I made the vine/leaves with Polas leaves generator (you can use a weight map for distribution, I made a wall object subdivided loads with a turbulance texture as a weight map). The lighting was one shadow map spot for the sun - with an image in it - and some spinning blueish distant lights for the rest.

I take it you have to have some webspace somewhere else to be able to upload anything bigger than 500x500?

Simon.

Hi Simon, thanks for the info.

>> I take it you have to have some webspace somewhere else to be able to upload anything bigger than 500x500?

Its not realy an uploading, the picture still resides on your webspace server, its just displayed here.

I'll have to look into this, but for now, anything wider than 500px stretches and distorts the look of the whole page.

We'll see what we can do though...:(

If it wasn't for the repeated texture on the lower window sill, I would probably have assumed that was a photograph!
Fantastic work - particularly the lighting! Really awesome :D

Looks good, I like the creeper, my only crit, the texture on the pots looks a bit overdone. I'd tone it down a bit, something more subtle and maybe use earth tones.

perhaps it has to do with the fact that the board's table pixel size is fixed

very nice render, the foliage looks great!

Really nice, like Leigh said if it wasn't for the texture repeating it could pass as a photo :)

Thanks for all the comments folks. Ref the repeating texture ... mmm yes well spotted .... I'll change the image for the bottom shelf ... I agree the pots look a bit too saturated too.

Ref the image size issue - there's a few other posts, like the Mac one, that have much larger pics (I think they used the image tag feature not the attachment) so they already distort the page layout, but 500 by 500 is too small for a post. I've got some other pics I'd like to post but they are 16:9 ratio and getting that into a 500x500 square makes them look about the same size as the avatars!!

Iv just been looking a bit more closely at it and damn those plants are amazing, your lighting setup is top notch cos the shadows the plants cast are spot on.

Simon, several times now I have seen people talk about using spinning lights to fake radiosity or something. Can you please tell me about this method I dont understand how it works or what I would have to do to set it up?

Thanks

Great work - wonderful lighting and modelling. Looks like a photo. There's a good sense of composition there too.
