I'd like to have some transparency in part of my simple skin surface. For example, in the attached I have two epidermal colors fed in by a weight map and a gradiant. I would like to have that same smooth transition from simple skin to a more transparent simple skin (keep a single surface). Can certainly do with less complex surfaces. But is there a way with simple skin? Thanks for any suggestions.

This is what I would like, but done with Simple Skin. Any help?

Material Mixer. Should be listed under Materials.

Othorton,

Thanks for the reply. I'm dense. I worked with mixer but could not get simple skin to represent Transparency. What am I plugging into material mixer?...If you would be so kind.

Well, teach a man to fish... I'm making it work with simple skin, delta, and weight map into material mixer. Thanks for the help.

No problem. You may also want to head on over to www.Flay.com and search their plugin database for links to some of the 3rd party node tools that have been developed. Very handy stuff. You can also find surface presets to study both in the LW content and at www.PresetCentral.com.
