Yeah second that would love to see 64bit versions. It does not specify on his site so i assume they are 32 bit versions

yeah I assume so although it does say more updates to come so I've got my fingers crossed.

Heck yeah, John!

And it seems if you are in his db then you get an email. Cool. Great to see life in dormant places...

I'm still getting that crash with Smart Morph when I try to open a scene with Smorph animation on it. I emailed Pawel about it today. It's a shame because I like to think I was one of the people who bugged him enough to get the update. :D

Work around:

"yea I know about it. I spent endless nights trying to fix it but the
crash happens in LW routine not mine. I have a workaround for it. I
know it is not the best solution but at least it is some solution.

if you open any scene with smart morph that doesn't use mixer (no
envelopes) it will not crash LW. then open SM interface that is
attached to an object in the scene. Close it and load the scene that
was crashing before (without restarting LW). It worked here every time
but it doesn't make any sense to me. Opening SM interface has nothing
to do with the bit of code that is crashing LW (loading envelopes from
a scene file). And the problem didn't exist in LW 7.5 that makes me
very suspicious.

Once again I'm very sorry for the problems you are experiencing but I
was unable to find any solution for it so far.

Work around:

The first thought after reading this description is that SM interface that is opened is initalizing LW global that is not initialized in regular loading scene.. Such as LWXPanelFuncs global..

I'm not sure what that means sensei but I'll tell Pawel. :)

Have you seen his showreel?!?!?! Whooa! That is seriously good work! Though it was odd putting the pig in until....

Yeah, it's a great reel Pawel has! Looks like Pawel and Sensei fixed that 'load scene' bug for Smart Morph! Works great except I found another bug. If I click on the smart sheet button I get an instant crash. I let Pawel know.

I first thought that he left all them plugs in behind since nothing seemed to happen for a very long time!

I asked him about five years ago if he couldnīt develope his "Wave Generator" plugin since I felt it would to be an absolutly outstanding liquid plugin for Lightwave. The answer was that he "maybe" would think about it in the future. Well, now the future is here!

It seems like Mr Ola have had a lot of other things on his mind, great job with the "Spider Scenes in Charlotte"! I both understand and respect that building plugins for Lightwave has to be put on hold, but I still wish his great capabilities will be available in the future for us LW users.

WaveGenerator: Generates realistic waves on water from hitting objects. Works as displacement plugin. Results are similar to obtain of RealWave. You can simply drop some objects into water and enjoy waves...

It'd be great if he could update the plug-ins I spent good money on. Oh, yeah - Mac users don't count do they?

Hehe.. It took me almost week to convince him where is bug (he gave me part of source code).. ;)

Problem was initializing LWInstUpdate global in user interface code, instead of the main handler activation routine. This global was used in envelope event call-back routine, without checking whether it's NULL or not. So you were seeing crash caused by jumping to 0 address in memory (Windows is reporting it by module unknown offset 0x0- probably the most often crash with Fprime while using Materials ;) because of not initialized randomFloat function)..

In other words- no animated envelope in scene- so no cpu jumping to envelope event call-back - no jumping to not initialized global - and no crash..

And workaround found by you- open interface, global is initalized, then load any scene with envelope is using properly initialized LWInstUpdate global, so no crash..

With your great support and providing working workaround it was very easy to find problem! Thanks Jason! I wish more bug reports were done so well!

Best Regards!

Any support I can provide is more than worth it, I'm indebted to the Lightwave community. I'm lucky to have such tools buggy or not ^.^

Likewise - Pretty disgusted that I spent the money on the Mac plug-ins, only to be dumped a few months later...

It's just not right. And it's not like they were dirt cheap either. This kind of laissez-faire business practice really pisses me off. I don't want to run the CFM version of LW any more but I have to keep it around to use stuff I've bought. Grrrr.
