View Full Version : simpleskin material

I have just installed the trial version of lightwave (discovery mode) and tried to render a sphere with the simpleskin material. All I get is a gray material (like a blinn shader) with the gray color being the one assigned to the diffuse channel of the SS node. I tried to dial down the diffuse to about 10% and use bright colors for the epidermis and subdermis with no luck. I have tried the same setup in a different machine that seemed to work fine. Is this a machine specific problem? Any suggestions?

Switch your camera from classic to perspective... or another type, just not classic.

trial version LW doesnt have the volume stacking feature thats only been introduced in 9.5... simple skin needs to be set double sided... see wip threads in my sig (tumour) where u can get a lil heads up on my use of simple skin.

Many thanks for your replies TonyT3D and RebelHill. It actually worked when I turned the raytrace occlussion on in render globals!
