View Full Version : What tool am I thinking of?

Back in the day, there was a tool I used to use in LW that would split an edge (point to point, before edge tools) into two parallel edges. It was really useful for doing SubD because that would be a harder edge based on how close the twin edges were before subdividing.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but if you figure out what tool I'm thinking of, can you holler at me here?

Have you try edge bevel?

I'm getting some funky results with that, but it may be the mouse actuator (me) that's screwing it up. I'll give it another shot. Thanks!

May be it's extender - select the two points on each end and hit e.

Don't think it's extender, that would create new geometry outside of the existing mesh, instead of an edge loop style.

Sorry, I don't recall the plugin though. Drawing a blank!

There is no such tool anymore. I would have liked it. Edge Bevel requires you to have a closed end. I got in the habit of using Add Edges. There is a stopper if you want it to stay even or do it by eye. I also have set up the cut tool to make edges on one side.

FI's Wrinkle ???

I loved that tool, I wish there was a UB version :help:

I don't think I exactly understan what you mean? Couldn't you just cut in a new loop? Using bandsaw pro and put the new edge really close the old one?

Can you post a before and after pic?
