View Full Version : Constrain objects or positioning with Mac Keyboard

When creating a ball or moving an object I want to constrain the ball to be a perfect circle or move something in a constrained position using the Control or Shift key. This doesn't work on my Mac.
Please advise.

We are talking about Modeler right.....control works for me in the latest beta.

Sorry. Yes, it is Modeler. I have 9.5 Beta for Mac installed, but there were to many issues as it was running into product key issues with my 9.3.

Are you pressing control key first, then trying to move it in the beta?

If it's still not working for you, it's best to post it in the beta forum.

I am actually not using Beta. I am using 9.3.

Ahhh...I see :)

If you are using 9.3.1 on an intel Mac then that is your problem, LW9.3.1 came out well before the new Macs arrived and therefore is quite buggy.

Try the beta version instead.

I would like to, but I heard the License key has to be constantly changed.

It gets renewed every 30 days or so, and they get posted on your product page. You simply copy and past it into the license key and away you go.

There might be a delay in releasing new license keys due to a holiday or what not.....just something to keep an eye out for. You shouldn't be without a key for more than a few days if that happens, depending on your time zone.

OK. Maybe I will give it a shot. I wish we would know when the full release will happen.

The good thing about the beta is you get a heads up on the new features, instead of having a bigger learning curve later on.

The only thing that's really stopping it's release is the Mac related bugs and they are working on those.

PS...those are just my views and nothing official, I have no relationship with Newtek other than using their product :hey:

It's my pleasure

Newtek has many short and long video tutorials...that would get you off to a flying start:

These are more LW9+ related, showing new features etc.

ps. videos at the ftp site could also be on the main training link, I didn't have time to check :D

Sweet. Downloading now!

The constraining should work in 9.3.1 as well. It might make use of the 'control' key instead of the 'command' key though. Just make sure you hold it down before click-dragging though, like Kuzey mentioned. I know I would constrain in 9.3 when I used it.

Problem solved! Thanks
