may i get some hints on Scratches in chrome?I'm using a 190,190,190 image with white 1 pixel lines and some Grunge scratche brush(PSD).But not sure what channels to use the image in,or if the gray value is correct. This is LW 8.5.

I would try the bump channels since the scratches are suppose to represent digs in the metal. I believe mid gray is 125, 125, 125. White should raise the scratches and black should lower them.

You should also try copying the texture to the spec and reflection channels too as where the chrome is scratched you would expect it to reflect less.

Thats a good point, the underlaying metal could be any type of metal with a chrome paint applied. It could have a small amount of turbulence texture applied with a different color to give the impression of rust starting.
