Surface Baker should be able to select any surface channel for baking. If a channel can have a procedural texture or gradient, we should be able to create a bitmap texture from it. ;)

We should be able to bake illumination transmitted via translucency, not just direct light.

Correction for UV distortion on SubD objects would also be mighty handy... :)

One additional thing currently, baking to vertices only bakes a vertex colour map. It would useful if we could bake to a weightmap instead. (For example, you could use gradients to shade a surface's bump channel based on baked weight map, but you cannot do this with a vertex colour map.)

There needs to be a "pixel bleed" option.

Lamont, you mean extend the bake slightly over the edges of the UVs? Yup, I second that.
